Dangerous Open Carry Bill Filed in Fl. Senate. Take Action Now. No Open Carry of Fire Arms in Florida. Join our petition to stop Senate Bill 140 today:

SB 140 would allow concealed carry permit holders to open carry their handguns and remove the prohibition of handguns in previously protected areas including airports, legislative meetings, elementary and secondary schools, college and university campuses, and local government meetings.

Senator Greg Steube filed Senate Bill 140 for the upcoming 2017 legislative session.

The following is LWVF’s official position on gun safety legislation:

“Support regulations concerning the purchase, ownership and use of handguns that balance as nearly as possible individual constitutional rights with the general interest and welfare of the community.”
This is not responsible legislation. SB 140 would essentially allow firearm owners to openly carry their weapon everywhere in the state.

Help us stop this Bill by signing and sharing our online petition asking for sensible gun laws in Florida.
